State Bank of India — Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales)
State Bank of India's recruitment exam for Junior Associate (clerical) posts.
SBI Clerk topic-wise practice and short mini mocks are live on Kitabey — students can practise SBI Clerk Prelims- and Mains-pattern questions topic by topic or take a mini mock with the real paper's sections, sectional timers and marking, and every question's answer and explanation is checked before it's published. Puzzles and seating arrangements, reading passages, data-interpretation charts and current affairs aren't in Kitabey's bank yet, and full-length mocks follow as the bank grows. Coaching centres can also run SBI Clerk tests with their own questions or an uploaded PDF.
SBI Clerk has a Prelims screening test and a Mains exam, followed by a local language proficiency test. Recruitment is state-wise, and the exam is offered in English, Hindi and the languages of the states with vacancies.
There is no sectional minimum at either stage — Prelims shortlists on aggregate, and Mains needs only a minimum aggregate. Every section is separately timed, with five-option MCQs throughout.
| Prelims | English Language (30 Q), Numerical Ability (35 Q), Reasoning Ability (35 Q) — 20 minutes each; 100 Q, 100 marks, 60 minutes |
| Mains | General / Financial Awareness (50 Q, 35 min), General English (40 Q, 35 min), Quantitative Aptitude (50 Q, 45 min), Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (50 Q, 60 marks, 45 min) — 190 Q, 200 marks, 160 minutes |
| Question format | Single-correct MCQs with 5 options; every section separately timed |
| Sectional cutoff | None — Prelims shortlists on aggregate; Mains has only a minimum aggregate |
| Medium | English, Hindi and the state languages listed in the advertisement — the list can change from year to year |
Marking scheme
Correct
+1 per question, except Mains Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (60 marks over 50 questions)
Incorrect
−¼ of that question's marks for every wrong answer; unanswered questions get 0
The local language proficiency test after Mains isn't covered by Kitabey's tests.
With no sectional minimum, every extra correct answer counts wherever it comes from. Know which section gives you the fastest marks.
190 questions in 160 minutes. Practise moving quickly through awareness and English so you have time for reasoning and quant.
Mains reasoning carries computer-aptitude questions too. A short revision of fundamentals, MS Office and networking is cheap marks.
A wrong answer costs a quarter of the question's marks — guessing blind across 190 questions adds up.
